About The Position

Priority Health Care is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The Certified Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers while delivering high-quality patient care in a professional and compassionate manner. The ideal person for this role is a strong communicator, compassionate, organized, adaptable, and detail oriented. This vital team member greets patients, supports clinical operations, maintains accurate medical records, and upholds patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or equivalent certification preferred or required, as applicable
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Previous clinical experience in a physician practice, community health center, or outpatient setting preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard office software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination, obtain and document vital signs, collect and update medical histories, reconcile medications, and ensure patient records are accurate and complete.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures and educate patients on treatment plans as directed by the provider.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, specimen collection, basic wound care, and other approved clinical procedures in accordance with organizational policies, state regulations, and provider orders.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, take messages, greet patients, coordinate referrals, and provide patient education regarding preventive care, treatment instructions, and health maintenance as directed by the provider.
  • Support physicians and clinical staff during procedures and medical emergencies.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, and professional standards.
