About The Position

Ascension is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their OBGYN department at the 117th Street Clinic in Wauwatosa, WI. This full-time, day shift position involves assisting physicians and nurses with patient care, including examinations and treatments. The role also includes interviewing patients to gather medical history and vital signs, preparing and sanitizing treatment rooms, managing medical supplies, and handling clerical tasks such as phone correspondence and record maintenance.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Registered Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Registry of Medical Assistants also accepted.
Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Prior OBGYN/Women's Health experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, treatments, and specialized clinical duties.
Interview patients to record medical history and accurately measure vital signs for charting.
Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms while ensuring all medical supplies are ordered and stocked.
Manage essential clerical tasks, including phone correspondence, record maintenance, and filing.
