About The Position

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant who will function as an Internal Float within Ascension Medical Group Clinics, specializing in Family and Internal Medicine. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, but may vary based on provider coverage needs. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures, maintain sterile and organized treatment rooms, streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories. They will also transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring accurate documentation of diagnoses and follow-up instructions. Additionally, the role involves managing administrative duties such as medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
