About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant Float will bring their passion to Texas Health to be Better + Together. This is a Full-Time, Day Shift position with a Sign-On Bonus for Eligible New Hires. The work location is Texas Health Adult Care in Hurst, TX, and the work hours are Full Time (40 hours) Day Shift. The shift depends on clinic needs, typically Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM-4:30 PM or 8 AM-5 PM. Some clinics close early on Friday (7:30 AM-12:30 PM). The CMA Float will be eligible for a sign-on bonus upon hire with a signed retention agreement. The role requires floating between Hurst and Bedford locations, specifically Texas Health Family Care in Bedford and Texas Health Internal Medicine locations in Bedford. The clinic highlights include the need to cover both front desk and clinical duties, requiring good communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 year Medical Assistant experience within the last three years
  • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant upon hire
  • Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills - within 90 days of job entry
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 days upon hire
  • Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections as needed by assigned clinic
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrated knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations

  • Recent phlebotomy experience
  • EPIC knowledge
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
  • May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
