About The Position

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant for a flexi float pool position. This role primarily serves Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, with potential travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock sites based on staffing needs. The Medical Assistant will perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. Differential pay is provided for travel and flexibility.

Requirements

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
1 year of clinical or administrative experience

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
