The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will deliver care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant process. This role involves performing general patient care by following established standards and procedures, greeting and preparing patients for the healthcare provider, and obtaining/recording vital signs. The CMA will administer ordered medications and/or vaccines, may draw blood samples, perform routine tests like EKGs, and schedule patients for diagnostic testing. Documentation of patient plans of care, test results, and communication with patients regarding results are key responsibilities. The role also includes preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly. The CMA will escalate non-routine issues, ensure safety checklists are completed, and protect patient privacy. This position may also involve front office duties and other tasks as assigned. The role is full-time, days, with travel to surrounding clinics as needed.
