Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Internal Medicine
About The Position
Trios Health, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their Internal Medicine team. This role is crucial in supporting physicians and nurses by assisting with patient assessments, treatments, and basic diagnostic procedures. The CMA will also be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, documenting care, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, and performing administrative tasks. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Washington CMA License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
- Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
- Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Maintains examination areas.
- Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
