About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will support patients and community members by assisting physicians or nurses with patient assessments and treatments. This role involves performing basic diagnostic procedures, collecting specimens, monitoring patient conditions, and documenting care. The CMA will also maintain medical equipment and supplies, manage examination areas, and perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current WA CCMA or CMA. must be obtained within the hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communication changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
