About The Position
This role involves assisting a physician with the daily operations of a urology practice. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting with patient care including exams, procedures, and education under physician supervision. Key duties include performing triage, monitoring and recording vital signs, ensuring accurate medical documentation, and potentially assisting with office and scheduling coordination. The position emphasizes friendly, courteous, and considerate interactions with patients and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program
- Medical Assistant Certification required through one of the following: National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS) (Will allow 90 days to obtain certification)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school OR three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of Medical Assistant diploma

Responsibilities
- Assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office
- Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician
- Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patient
- Perform EKG and Phlebotomy, as applicable
- Ensures medical documentation of office visits
- Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner
