About The Position

The Medical Assistant maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.

Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
High School Diploma/GED (Required)

Responsibilities

Verify patient information by interviewing patients, reviewing and/or recording medical history, taking vital signs, and confirming reason for visit or treatment.
Support patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations.
Prepare laboratory specimens.
Dispose of contaminated supplies.
Sterilize instruments and equipment.
Prepare patients for and take 2D and 3D imaging.
Remove sutures.
Keep medical and office equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns.
Maintain supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
Call for repairs when needed.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to organizational standards, policies, and legal regulations.
Alert others regarding potential concerns.
Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping information confidential.
Caution others regarding potential confidentiality breaches.
Improve medical assisting knowledge by attending training sessions and reading technical publications.
Contribute to medical office success by welcoming new requests and helping others accomplish job results.
Ensure charges are captured on services delivered.
Clean equipment, chairs, and rooms between patients.
Replace and restock supplies and linen.
Take and record vital signs.
Recognize variances from normal and communicate concerns to RN or provider.
Prepare patients for 2D and 3D imaging.
Perform digital imaging.
