Certified Medical Assistant - Bilingual
About The Position
Nashville CARES, a leading nonprofit organization committed to ending the HIV epidemic through prevention, treatment, education, and supportive care, is seeking a dedicated and bilingual Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a welcoming and inclusive clinical environment. Our team provides comprehensive healthcare services including HIV treatment and ongoing care, PrEP and PEP services, STI testing and treatment, and sexual health and wellness support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative healthcare setting and enjoys building meaningful connections with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
- Active CMA certification in the state of Tennessee
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Ability to remain professional and compassionate in fast-paced situations
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of clinical experience as a CMA or LPN preferred
- Experience with EMR systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for appointments by taking vital signs and documenting medical history and medications
- Perform phlebotomy and administer injections and medications
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Assist providers during exams and clinical procedures
- Schedule appointments, answer calls, and support patient triage needs
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation
- Help create a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment
- Protect patient confidentiality and provide compassionate support
- Participate in trainings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinic operations
