Certified Medical Assistant - Bilingual
About The Position
Join Nashville CARES, a leading nonprofit organization committed to ending the HIV epidemic through prevention, treatment, education, and supportive care. We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a welcoming and inclusive clinical environment. Our team provides comprehensive healthcare services including: HIV treatment and ongoing care, PrEP and PEP services, STI testing and treatment, and Sexual health and wellness support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative healthcare setting and enjoys building meaningful connections with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
- Active CMA certification in the state of Tennessee
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Ability to remain professional and compassionate in fast-paced situations
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of clinical experience as a CMA or LPN preferred
- Experience with EMR systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for appointments by taking vital signs and documenting medical history and medications
- Perform phlebotomy and administer injections and medications
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Assist providers during exams and clinical procedures
- Schedule appointments, answer calls, and support patient triage needs
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation
- Help create a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment
- Protect patient confidentiality and provide compassionate support
- Participate in trainings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinic operations
