About The Position
Asbury Chandler Estates is seeking a Certified Med Tech to assist residents with activities of daily living and accurately administer medications. This role involves verifying resident identity, checking medications three times for accuracy (resident, drug, dosage, form, route, time, and frequency), and ensuring all medications are properly labeled. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a recognized Medication Administration course is a plus
- 1 year experience or training working with older adults or in the retirement housing industry is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with activities of daily living
- Accurately and safely prepares and administers oral, ophthalmic, optic, nasal, rectal, and topical medications prescribed by the physician.
- Verifies the identity of the resident before administering medication or treatment; checks the medication three times before administering for correct resident, drug, and dosage, form, route, and accurate time and frequency (e.g. 1 hour after meals)
- Ensures that all medications administered are properly labeled.
