About The Position

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, budgeting, cost accounting, and internal financial reporting to support strategic business decisions. This role ensures accurate financial data, evaluates operational performance, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and assists leadership with forecasting and financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, advanced accounting knowledge, and the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required, or ability and willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • 3–7+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software (such as Fishbowl, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent time management skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment while being independent and autonomous.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial, or operational environments (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and job costing.
  • Experience in preparing executive-level financial reports and presentations.
  • CPA designation is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Perform cost accounting analysis, including standard costing, variance analysis, and profitability reporting.
  • Support strategic planning by providing financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide analysis on financial and operational trends.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Evaluate internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Conduct financial analysis related to pricing, labor, overhead, and operational expenses.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations for leadership meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to support cost management and budget accountability.
  • Assist with audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and return-on-investment (ROI) analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and increased profitability.
  • Any other duties assigned by management or development due to business necessity and growth.
