Certified Journeyman Electrician (Talent Pool, Future)
About The Position
Sunrun is building candidate interest for a future Certified Journeyman Electrician opening, pending budget approval. The role involves installing solar systems, supporting existing customers, and learning about energy storage and other emerging technologies. Electricians lead residential electrical installation work that connects solar arrays to the grid, complete battery installations, troubleshoot electrical issues, perform main panel upgrades, and coordinate with branch teams, homeowners, and local inspectors. The position requires 5% travel. Sunrun describes its Power+ program as providing training across teams and offers competitive hourly base pay and performance incentives through The League.
Requirements
- Electrical installation and repair experience.
- Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
- A valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent under local and state requirements, such as a wireman license.
- Maintain a clean driving record and pass a driving background check.
- Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Safety and customer focus.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation of electrical systems that interconnect solar arrays with grid power at customers’ residential properties.
- Ensure electricians’ work is of good workmanship and complies with current NEC and local codes.
- Complete solar battery installations as assigned.
- Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
- Safely plan and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
- Work with branch teams and homeowners on necessary system upgrades and repairs to support solar equipment.
- Work with local inspectors to meet local requirements and expectations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
