Certified Inpatient Coder
About The Position
Scotland Health Care System is seeking a Certified Inpatient Coder to join their Central Billing Office - Coding team. This is a full-time position with a 1st shift schedule. The role involves coding and abstracting inpatient accounts daily, assigning appropriate DRGs, populating correct discharge dispositions, and generating physician queries for incomplete documentation. The coder will also work with CDI on coding coordination and must be knowledgeable in Coding Clinics and Inpatient Coding Guidelines. Requirements
- Minimum 3 Years In Coding And/Or Abstracting
- AHIMA or AAPC Inpatient Certification
- 3 years in coding and/or abstracting
Responsibilities
- Codes and abstracts inpatient accounts on a daily basis using computer generated work ques.
- Competent in coding of Inpatient Records and assigning appropriate DRGs.
- Populates correct discharge disposition.
- Generated physician queries for incomplete documentation.
- Works directly with CDI on coding coordination with coding assignment.
- Knowledgeable in Coding Clinics and Inpatient Coding Guidelines.
