Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
About The Position
Right at Home, In-Home Care & Assistance, is seeking to hire a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to make a difference by providing compassionate and meaningful care in the areas of Middlesex, Mercer and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by providing support with their daily activities. Certified Home Health Aides must be detail-oriented and be able to carefully follow protocols and rules regarding the patient’s care. Aides must adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses, such as knowing how to care for a minor medical issue or letting them know about changes in the patient’s health. They should be trustworthy and dependable so the patient and their family feel comfortable relying on them.
Requirements
- NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide a must
- 2-step PPD Physical within the last 12 months
- MMR
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
- Reliable transportation
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Record and report data as medically necessary.
- Help patients with their daily functions, such as dressing or taking a bath.
- Assist with planning for doctor's appointments, other meetings and may organize transportation for them.
- Facility work, hourly as well as live in.
- Light housekeeping - dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.
- Prepping and cooking meals.
- Grocery shopping.
- Reporting to nurses about patients health status.
- Teaching patients self-care skills.
