About The Position

Right at Home, In-Home Care & Assistance, is seeking to hire a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to make a difference by providing compassionate and meaningful care in the areas of Middlesex, Mercer and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by providing support with their daily activities. Certified Home Health Aides must be detail-oriented and be able to carefully follow protocols and rules regarding the patient’s care. Aides must adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses, such as knowing how to care for a minor medical issue or letting them know about changes in the patient’s health. They should be trustworthy and dependable so the patient and their family feel comfortable relying on them.

Requirements

• NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide a must
• 2-step PPD
• Physical within the last 12 months
• MMR
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
• Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and report patient data as medically necessary.
• Assist patients with daily functions such as dressing or bathing.
• Assist with planning for doctor's appointments and other meetings.
• Organize transportation for patients.
• Perform facility work, hourly, or live-in assignments.
• Light housekeeping duties including dusting, mopping, and laundry.
• Prepare and cook meals.
• Perform grocery shopping.
• Report patient health status to nurses.
• Teach patients self-care skills.
