Certified Home Health Aide
About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide direct and indirect personal care to patients in their homes. Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will utilize safety measures, maintain effective communication, and follow a written care plan to deliver essential patient services. This role involves observing patients for changes in condition, reporting findings to your supervisor, and accurately documenting all services provided in a timely manner. You will adhere to state regulations defining the role of a Home Health Aide and ensure patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
- Adequate health status to perform described duties.
- Ability to safely handle body fluids and hazardous waste products.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Must meet personnel qualifications.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Graduated from an accredited Home Health Aide program preferred
- Active HHA license preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect personal care to the patient in the home setting under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Utilizes safety measures in the provision of care.
- Maintains effective communication with supervisor regarding patient’s condition.
- Follows written assignment to deliver patient services developed by an appropriate health care professional. (RN)
- Documents and submits accurate accounts of services provided.
- Observes the patient for changes in condition and behavior and report to the supervisor.
- Submits required documentation in a timely manner.
- Adheres to the role of the Home Health Aide in the home setting as defined in state regulation.
- The home health aide or CNA shall not change sterile dressings, irrigate body cavities such as giving an enema, irrigate a colostomy or wound, perform gastric irrigation or enteral feeding, catheterize a patient, administer medication, apply heat by any method, care for a tracheostomy tube, nor provide any personal health service which has not been included in the plan of care.
