About The Position

SmartStart Education is seeking a passionate High School Tutor to support students’ academic growth and prepare them for success in a global economy. The position begins as soon as possible and continues through the remainder of the 2026–2027 school year. The tutor will work in the Fairfield, Connecticut 06825 area and must be able to tutor all high school subjects, including calculus, physics, chemistry, history, and English. The role offers $35.00 per hour and requires availability Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work 8–35 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Work may take place during the school day and after school as needed.

Requirements

• Active Connecticut state teaching certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage diverse learners.
• Familiarity with learning technologies and their application in education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to tutor all high school subjects, including calculus, physics, chemistry, history, and English.
• Availability Monday through Friday, with flexibility for 8–35 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs.
