About The Position

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Live-In Caregivers to join our team. This role involves providing essential support and care to clients in their homes, following a personalized care plan. We are committed to fostering a positive work environment where employees can grow and thrive. Schedules are typically 7 days on, Wednesday to Wednesday.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Must possess a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements.
  • Must have evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate.
  • Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client's family, and agency personnel.
  • Must have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled.
  • Must get along well with others.
  • Must be dependable and trustworthy.
  • Must maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain in-service requirements as specified in State and agency regulations.
  • Must enjoy working with others.
  • Must be a good listener, exhibit empathy for the sick, disabled, and elderly, and be sensitive to the feelings of others.
  • Must be neatly dressed and have good personal hygiene habits.
  • Must maintain good health habits with regular physical and dental exams.
  • Must wear an identification badge while working.
  • Able to lift, turn, and transfer clients.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stoop and bend.
  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication.
  • Able to verbalize so that the average person can understand.
  • Able to provide direct care according to the established client plan of care.
  • Able to carry out a wide variety of tasks under the direction of the nursing supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment for the client.
  • Provide nutritional and environmental support.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking, and feeding the client.
  • Position the client as instructed.
  • Assist with treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor.
  • Remind the client to take medications.
  • Assist with payment of bills when authorized and documented.
  • Run errands when authorized.
  • Document daily care on the Aide Charting Sheet.
  • Report important information or changes in the client's condition to the agency and/or nursing supervisor.
  • Use medical supplies and equipment appropriately.
  • Provide emotional support and develop a trusting relationship with the client.
  • Encourage client independence.
