About The Position

Banner Physical Therapy is hiring a full-time Certified Hand Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist to help launch a hand therapy service at a well-established clinic in a rapidly growing community. The therapist will treat upper-extremity disorders, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and postoperative fractures. The role offers autonomy as the location’s sole hand therapist, with support from local and national hand therapy teams and a regional hand therapy coordinator. Mentorship and continuing education opportunities are available. Applicants with CHT certification are preferred; applicants preparing for the exam or with extensive hand therapy experience are also welcome. The nationwide hand therapy program includes more than 300 CHTs and an additional 300 hand therapists. Professional development opportunities include mentorship, a National UE Symposium, journal club, CHT study group, local CEUs, webinars, certification courses, team meetings, physician-clinic observation, research, and program development. Clinics are equipped to provide a range of treatment options. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, at 23478 North Sundance Parkway, Suite 104, Buckeye, Arizona 85326. Compensation is salaried, starting at $85,000 and commensurate with experience, plus a $20,000 sign-on bonus and a student loan repayment benefit of $350 per month.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school for occupational or physical therapy.
Hold specialty certification or licensure in hand therapy.
National registration and state licensure or registration are required.
Previous demonstrated marketing experience.
Solid experience applying custom splinting in pre- and postoperative orthopedic care.
CPR certification.
Valid state driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification is preferred.
Applicants preparing for the CHT exam or with extensive hand therapy experience are welcome.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and develop plans of care for hand therapy services.
Provide treatment, re-evaluation, and discharge services, with appropriate communication to patients and customers.
Provide comprehensive, individualized treatment programs.
Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients and enhance and expand client relationships with facilities and their staff.
Stay current with Occupational Therapy research and use evidence-based practice, incorporating research, clinician expertise, and patient perception.
