Seeking a Full-Time Certified English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves instructing assigned clients by developing a structured classroom environment to promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth. The teacher will plan and implement instructional programs for clients with emotional and behavioral disorders, adhering to the GA Dept of Education and each student's Individual Education Program (IEP). The position follows the Gwinnett County Public School's curriculum and the Georgia Standards of Excellence. The number of students in the class is based on the census, with the facility having a capacity of 24 students. Currently, there are 17 students distributed between 2 class rotations. Teachers work a modified school schedule, including additional days during Fall and Winter Breaks, and 15 days during May/June for Summer Enrichment. Unlike some districts, staff are expected to report to work during inclement weather, prioritizing safety. The role offers greater autonomy and flexibility with teaching plans, classrooms equipped with Interactive Boards and educational learning supplies, and the assignment of a direct support professional to assist in maintaining student well-being and safety. Unique programs such as art therapy, animal care therapy, yoga, drama, and life-skills are also part of the curriculum. Devereux also offers the ASCEND career accelerator program, providing career guidance, coaching, skills, and financial assistance, including tuition coverage and student loan repayment.
