About The Position

The Manager will juggle administrative and operational duties while utilizing their nutrition therapy education to prove safe, quality meals for patients and residents and taking into account specific dietary restrictions (example: if someone has difficulty chewing or swallowing due to a stroke or dental issues, they will likely be placed on a mechanical soft diet or pureed diet). Regardless of where they work, dietary managers ensure that food quality and safety laws are being met, while adhering to employer specific policies, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Nutrition therapy education
  • Knowledge of food safety laws
  • Understanding of HACCP, local health department regulations and employer/facility policies and procedures
  • Understanding of foodborne pathogens, cross-contaminations and allergen management
  • Experience with nutrition documentation, including assessments and care plans in healthcare settings
  • Experience with audits of kitchens sanitation, temperature logs, and infection control procedures
  • Experience designing and implementing menus
  • Effective communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Working in conjunction with the on site Registered Dietitian
