About The Position

The Certified Crane Operator is a safety-focused professional responsible for constructing and repairing electrical systems. This role requires travel to various job sites, including out-of-state locations, as dictated by operational and customer needs. The position reports to the Foreman. The job involves working outdoors in diverse environmental conditions and requires availability for outages, storms, emergencies, and on-call rotations, while strictly adhering to all safety protocols, including PPE usage.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of experience.
  • Possess a NCCCO certification and possess a crane operator's card.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Valid DOT certification.
  • Must be able to operate a drill rig.
  • Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Seven (7) year preferred experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Cranes and Boom Trucks to perform new construction, maintain and repair electrical systems.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Inspect the crane or boom truck, cribbing and outriggers.
  • Oversee the setup of the crane and/or boom truck with correct rigging techniques.
  • Read load charts and rigging techniques along with writing up lift plans.
  • Willing and able to learn the job duties of a Groundman, Class C Lineman and Heavy Equipment Operator.
  • While not operating the Crane or Boom Truck you will assist the crew with shoveling dirt and tamp pole holes.
  • Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
  • Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
  • Follow all safety protocols including PPE use.
