Job Description: Job description: Medical Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our clinical care team, providing both direct patient care and essential administrative support to ensure smooth, efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training: Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or similar preferred credential (CCMA).
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or fast-paced medical office setting (preferred).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and general office technology.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with an empathetic, patient-focused approach.
  • Organization: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a high-demand environment.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Intake: Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, interview them for the reason for their visit, and take accurate medical histories.
  • Vitals & Measurements: Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and height.
  • Exam Assistance: Assist physicians or nurses during examinations and procedures.
  • Clinical Procedures: Prepare and administer medications and injections under supervision.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care as directed by the provider.
  • EHR Management: Accurately update and maintain patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments and coordinate hospital admissions or specialist referrals.
  • Communication: Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages to providers.
  • Inventory: Monitor and restock medical supplies and exam rooms.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
