About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center is seeking Certified Central Sterile Technicians for an in-person interview event on Tuesday, September 22nd. This role is crucial to patient safety and involves the manual cleaning and reprocessing of scopes, as well as the cleaning, sterilization, and assembly of equipment, supplies, and instruments following established procedures. The position is in a high-volume department and requires a strong work ethic. Full-time positions are available with various shifts (Day, Evening, Night). This is an invite-only event, and applications will be reviewed by recruiters. All roles require on-site presence within a commutable distance to NYP.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
Nice To Haves
- Prior CSPD or ORT experience
Responsibilities
- Manually clean and reprocess scopes in a safe and cost-effective manner using established policies and procedures under the direction of the department supervisor.
- Execute the cleaning, sterilization, and assembly of equipment, supplies, and instruments following prescribed procedures and techniques.
- Utilize a strong work ethic in a high volume department crucial to patient safety.
