Overview The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is responsible for providing safe, high quality Athletic Training services that delivers optimal outcomes for athletes and patients. They participate and provide continuing education aligned with the domains of Athletic Training set forth by the Board of Certification (BOC) to hospital staff, students, athletes, patients, and the community. They promote efficiency and improvement of Athletic Training operations within the hospital, department and for community partnerships. Athletic trainers (ATs) use current research, evidence-based practice standards and quality improvement to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve Athletic Training care quality. ATs deliver care in a customer friendly way consistent with the philosophy, mission, vision and values of the Department and organization. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in Athletic Training
  • Certified Athletic Trainer NAT
  • Certified Athletic Trainer KS
  • Certified Athletic Trainer MO
  • Employees must obtain Certified Athletic Trainer MO or equivalent within 90 days
  • Employees must obtain Certified Athletic Trainer KS or equivalent within 90 days
  • ATC NAT Certified Athletic Trainer NAT National Athletic Training Certification through the Board of Certification Required Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
  • Previous work as a high school athletic trainer is preferred.
  • Graduate Assistant education as a certified athletic trainer may count towards experience.
