About The Position

Sentara Medical Group is hiring a Certified Athletic Trainer – Field in Elkton, VA! This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, providing onsite coverage at East Rockingham High School. The role involves working closely with coaches and athletic staff to coordinate schedules, events, and athlete care. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and autonomously, managing daily responsibilities and athletic coverage needs. Flexibility to accommodate evening and/or weekend athletic events is required. This is a great opportunity for a Certified Athletic Trainer who enjoys working in a team environment, building relationships with student-athletes and coaches, and making an impact in the community.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required
Board of Certification (BOC) certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) required
Virginia Athletic Trainer License required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

Evaluate, advise, treat, and educate athletes who experience athletic related injuries or illnesses to maintain peak physical fitness.
Travel with team and be available at sports events and during practices to offer prevention- maintenance and assistance.
