About The Position

Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAAs) are highly skilled professionals who work under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists to implement anesthesia care plans within the anesthesia care team environment. CAAs have a premedical background, a baccalaureate degree, and complete a graduate-level didactic and clinical program, receiving extensive training in anesthesia care delivery, maintenance, and advanced patient monitoring techniques. The CAA education program aims to develop competent healthcare practitioners for the anesthesia care team.

Requirements

  • Holds current active state licensure as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in the state of Georgia and complies with applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Graduate of a Master’s degree in Anesthesia.
  • Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by the institution or state.
  • Demonstrates current competency in clinical responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform clinically as an anesthetist in a facility setting on a regular basis.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records.
  • Ability to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience.
  • Certified by National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists to implement anesthesia care plans.
  • Function within the anesthesia care team environment.
  • Deliver and maintain quality anesthesia care.
  • Utilize advanced patient monitoring techniques.
  • Operate, use, and interpret data from a wide variety of equipment for anesthesia care and perioperative/operating room care.
  • Support patient safety and well-being under direct supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical staff and other disciplines through verbal and written communication.
  • Provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the life span and assessing age-specific needs.
  • Apply knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
  • Maintain confidential records.
  • Implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
