About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.) to operate institutional Point of Care Testing monitors, cell salvaging systems, and Rapid Infusion Systems during critical procedures like trauma and liver transplants, or when the massive transfusion protocol is initiated. This full-time role involves working with minimal guidance and offers opportunities for professional growth within the Anesthesiology department. The department utilizes an anesthesia care team approach and provides anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures. Requirements

  • Certified Anesthesia Technologist Certification, Cer.A.T.T., is required.
  • Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate capabilities as Anesthesia Technical Support in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate procedures knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) - American Society of Anesthesia Technicians/Technologists (ASATT)
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Operates the institutional Point of Care Testing monitors.
  • Operates the institution's cell salvaging systems.
  • Operates the Rapid Infusion Systems during trauma and liver transplant procedures, or procedures in which the massive transfusion protocol is initiated with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of hemodynamics as it pertains to invasive line placement.
  • Performs non-routine tasks that significantly impact team's performance with minimal guidance.
  • Conducts research and analysis to solve some non-routine problems.
  • Provides informal guidance and support to less experienced team members.
