About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical and obstetrical procedures. This role involves performing anesthesia-related procedures under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist, evaluating patients preoperatively, developing and executing anesthesia care plans, and monitoring patient responses. The CRNA will also safely transport patients, provide postoperative care, and supervise student nurse anesthetists. The position emphasizes interacting with staff and patients respectfully and considerately. A $50,000 signing bonus and relocation incentive are available for eligible applicants. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved CRNA program.
  • New Graduates accepted during final semester.
  • TN Registered Nurse and CRNA certification.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain license/certification within 90 days, in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Master's degree.
  • Relevant Work Experience (less than 1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures.
  • Performs anesthesia-related procedures at the discretion of and under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
  • Evaluates patients preoperatively and, in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan.
  • Monitors and records patient reaction to anesthesia and modifies the anesthetic plan accordingly.
  • Safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.
  • Supervises, instructs, and counsels student nurse anesthetists to ensure patient safety.
  • Interacts with staff and patients in a way that shows respect and consideration for the individual.
