About The Position

The Certification Specialist is responsible for applying expert judgment in application processing, policy variances, communication, and reporting to meet organizational goals and accreditation standards. The Certification Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the mission of the National Registry of EMTs by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of certification processes. Through diligent review and application of policies, the specialist helps uphold national standards for emergency medical personnel, contributing to public safety and the advancement of quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred, and 2 – 3 years minimum experience in the certification industry required.
  • In lieu of education, 5 – 7 years minimum experience in the certification industry is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience or familiarity with policies and procedures, and with application and examination processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proofreading, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with superior documentation management.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Capable of developing and improving processes both independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • ICE Credentialing Specialist Certificate preferred or obtained within the first year of employment.
  • ICE-CCP certification a plus.
  • Salesforce CRM and Service Cloud experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Processes various types of certification applications and policy variances related to extenuating circumstances.
  • Monitors the process of automated applications to identify gaps for process improvement.
  • Supports the internal teams with escalated inquiries related to certification.
  • Assists external stakeholders with certification questions, as necessary.
  • Reviews, on a consistent basis, all certification program materials and documentation to ensure consistency with any programmatic policy changes.
  • Collects and reports KPI data and report findings with any noted trends.
  • Analyzes data and generates daily/monthly/quarterly reports that align with accreditation standards.
  • Participates in meetings, webinars, and live communications that apply to certification.
