This role involves learning the commercial engine certification process and applying it for active commercial certification programs, including the NGPF (Next Generation Product Family) Programs. The specialist will collaborate with existing certification specialists, ODA Unit Members, CIPTs, other systems disciplines, and technical specialists to support the development of substantiation plans and reports for initial engine model certification activity and post-certification design changes. Responsibilities include tracking certification deliverables through various stages of the certification process and coordinating with members of various engine program SIPTs (System Integrated Product Teams). The role also involves leading validation projects (via the FAA) for certified products through foreign regulators, following established agreements. Upon becoming fully proficient, the individual may be eligible to become an ODA unit member with FAA delegated authority, providing dedicated support to one or more specific engine programs. Travel is up to 10%.
