The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Certification, Licensing, Registration and Training (CLRT) Supervisor in the Division of Consumer Protection. Under the leadership of the Office of Pesticide Services Program Manager, this position administers a statewide program that ensures pesticides are registered, sold, and applied in compliance with all applicable federal and Commonwealth laws and regulations. Program activities include leading, training, and supervising staff responsible for pesticide registration, licensing of commercial application and sales companies, and certifying pesticide applicators. Additional responsibilities include administration and coordination of SecuriTest (automated testing system); coordinating special registration requests and approvals; overseeing the Worker Protection Standard program; collaborating with third parties to develop and deliver training materials and programs that support voluntary compliance; and maintaining oversight of CLRT databases. This position also provides technical assistance and guidance on pesticide-related issues, evaluates and recommends actions concerning consumer protection laws and regulations, and regularly communicates with industry representatives, government officials, law enforcement, stakeholder groups, and the public regarding program services and regulatory requirements.
