About The Position

The Certification Engineer will serve as the technical liaison with various certifying agencies and schemes, including FM, CSA, IECEx, ATEX, UL, INMETRO, KOSHA, ITRI, and CCC. This role involves conducting and managing a wide range of product and site certification projects, supporting quarterly F&PA audits, and assisting Flowserve QRCs with the management of certification programs. The engineer will also provide training and technical support to certified distributors, manage non-conformance remediation, and oversee the technical documentation files for critical certifications. Additionally, this position requires managing ATEX/IECEx responsibilities, including scheduling and providing documentation for annual QAN/QAR audits, ensuring timely processing of agency invoices, and performing internal audits. The role also supports motor witnessed testing programs, provides guidance on agency requirements to sales staff, supports field service changes, and collaborates with the Pressure Testing Committee. Responsibilities include preparing test samples, performing in-house testing, and providing guidance on component features critical to agency certifications. Finally, the engineer will deliver subject matter training on certifications to relevant personnel.

Requirements

  • Technical liaison with all certifying agencies and schemes: FM, CSA, IECEx, ATEX, UL, INMETRO, KOSHA, ITRI, CCC, etc.
  • Conduct and manage a wide array of product and site certification projects.
  • Support and manage quarterly F&PA audits with FM and CSA.
  • Assist all Flowserve QRC’s with management of FM, ATEX, IECEx, and other certification programs.
  • Provide training and technical support for certified distributors.
  • Assist with FM and CSA audits, and manage non-conformance remediation.
  • Manage the SharePoint technical documentation files used by Flowserve QRC’s and independent distributors for access to the FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx critical documentation.
  • Serve as the designated Authorized Person for all ATEX/IECEx responsibilities.
  • Manage, schedule, and provide all necessary documentation for on-site or virtual annual QAN/QAR audits necessary to maintain ATEX and IECEx certification.
  • Work with FLS Accounts Payable to ensure that all agency invoices are processed and paid in a timely fashion to prevent cancellation of product and site certification.
  • Perform the annual Lynchburg ATEX Internal Audit.
  • Assist with MX motor witnessed testing programs, complete motor qualification reports, and submit to FM.
  • Provide guidance to sales staff regarding agency requirements including review of customer specifications and estimates of cost/time for agency certification of new equipment or options.
  • Provide support and guidance for field service changes, conversions, and enhancements of shipped equipment.
  • Support the Flowserve Lynchburg Pressure Testing Committee.
  • Prepare test samples, perform in-house testing, and ship to agency labs as necessary to advance certification testing and approval programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to Quality Assurance, Operations, and 3rd party vendors with regards to component features critical to agency certifications.
  • Provide certification subject matter training for Lynchburg personnel, distributors, and Flowserve QRC’s.
