About The Position

The Boeing Chief Aerospace Safety Office (CASO) is seeking a Certification Engineer – Post-Production Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness to join our team in Long Beach, CA. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Certification Engineer. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience with project management and the ability to self-manage projects
  • Experience functioning in a cross-functional environment
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise Safety Management System in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (including 14 CFR Part 5 where applicable).
  • Leads the identification, analysis, and assessment of regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services.
  • Leads collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate airworthiness and regulatory compliance requirements; incorporates into designs, operations, and procedures.
  • Reviews complex regulatory and customer requirements and evaluates impact to company products and services.
  • Leads analysis of regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Leads development of a compliance statement for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products.
  • Researches, investigates and monitors compliance processes or reported in-service fleet issues for achieving regulatory compliance and recommends and leads process improvements or corrective actions.
  • Engages with regulators on complex programs or initiatives to shape certification strategies, approaches, activities, and artifacts.
  • Partners with regulatory authorities to complete validation of airworthiness to applicable requirements as authorized.
  • Provides advanced technical support, training, tools and resources to the delegated approval organization.
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains complex compliance reports and documents in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations.
  • Leads establishing and promoting global regulatory advocacy strategies, trainings, tools, and methods.
