About The Position

PAC Seating Systems is a custom manufacturer of engineered and structural seating solutions for the business jet and VIP aerospace market. Founded in 2002 in Palm City, Florida, the company specializes in certified seating designed for private and business aviation. The Certification Engineer is responsible for developing and executing certification programs to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements.

Requirements

Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask
Exceptional organization skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency, with strong attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
Must be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Experience in Creo/Pro-E and AutoCAD
Gain exposure FAA or Military Aircraft Certification Practices
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred
0-2 years of engineering experience

Nice To Haves

Strong Engineering Mechanics knowledge would be a plus
Knowledge of classical hand calculation to obtain interface loads and to be able to understand stress calculations/FEM analysis

Responsibilities

Develop certification test plans and reports ensuring compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements
Communicate with project team members to identify scope of work, schedule, design details, quotes, risks, and other pertinent factors impacting certification
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Reviews and approves design changes from a certification perspective
Oversee and assist as necessary with test article build and conformity
Compiles FAA certification documentation for submission to regulatory agencies and completion centers/ODA
Hands-on working in a test lab performing static tests and supporting external test labs with dynamic crash testing of aircraft seats
Supports design optimization tasks
Prepares documentation for assigned projects to include certification documents, correspondence as well as planning and writing minutes of meetings between Company and Aviation Authorities
Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints
May represent the company in meetings with government authorities as well as taking part in international working groups and committees
Interpreting airworthiness requirements and advising appropriate departments in all matters related to airworthiness and certification
May require review and assist of certification documents of peers for accuracy and completeness
Maintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the Company’s information and products
