About The Position

Game Aerospace is a growing business that designs, manufactures, and sells composite airplanes. Our hand-crafted airplanes are delivered and flown around the world. The Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring product development efforts result in certifiable aircraft. They are experts in FAA regulations; specifically, 14 CFR Part 23. They’ll work with internal and external engineering teams, DERs, and the ACO to ensure programs move steadily toward certification. This role also leads project management functions for major changes and new product design and certification tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 4 or more years’ experience leading FAA certification programs.
  • Experience using modern project management software.
  • Experience creating professional and efficient written reports based on technical subjects.

Nice To Haves

  • Composited design and fabrication experience.
  • Proficient with 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • PMP certification.
  • High intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial, creative thinker and problem-solver, fast learner, with demonstrated initiative.
  • High level of maturity and ability to work in a team setting or independently.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves to help drive results.
  • Unquestionable ethics and personal integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, build, and manage project certification strategy.
  • Collaborate with design, system, and production engineers on topics related to Part 23 type certification.
  • Manage complex project schedules which includes planning, updating, and reporting on milestone progress.
  • Create, review, and submit reports related to product safety and certification.
  • Organize and catalogue certification documentation in an efficient and reliable manner.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings related to design, testing, and certification work.
