About The Position

The Certification Engineer I is a member of the Certification department within AerSale Engineered Solutions and supports and executes certification activities for assigned projects. The role assists with preparing and maintaining certification project documents and ensures certification activities conform to company quality-system procedures and work instructions.

The engineer supports communication with regulatory authorities under the guidance of senior certification personnel, contributes to project documentation and schedule tracking, and coordinates with quality assurance on conformity inspections and records. The position also supports project meetings, provides input on project requirements and timelines, and promotes compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• A four-year technical degree and 1–3 years of industry experience in aircraft certification or a related engineering discipline, or another combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Meeting facilitation skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
• Critical-thinking and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Creative problem-solving ability and a customer- and partner-focused approach.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge and effective practice of aerospace quality practices such as ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of FAA and foreign regulatory certification procedures and standards for commercial aviation products on large transport-category aircraft.
• Basic understanding of FAA certification processes, including STC, PMA, and OPP.

Responsibilities

• Support communications between AerSale and regulatory authorities, including the FAA, EASA, ODAs, and designees, under the guidance of senior certification personnel.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining certification department procedures and work instructions.
• Assist with generating and maintaining accurate project-specific certification documentation for assigned projects under supervision.
• Prepare reports on assigned certification activities to ensure conformity.
• Coordinate with quality assurance to plan and complete conformity inspections and documentation.
• Track certification schedules and support adherence to them for assigned projects.
• Support project meetings and teleconferences as required.
• Provide input on project requirements and timelines for assigned projects.
• Work with quality assurance to ensure conformity inspections and documentation are planned and completed and that project conformity records are submitted for review and approval.
• Understand and promote applicable health, safety, and environmental legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and standards.
• Comply with and sustain a strong safety culture and compliance-driven practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
