About The Position

Sonoma Tilemakers is a leading wholesale manufacturer and distributor of high-end residential and commercial ceramic tile, stone and glass. We are seeking a skilled and creative professional to join our team in the ceramic tiles industry. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical engineering and creative design to produce high-quality products, maintain manufacturing efficiency, and ensure customer satisfaction in a competitive market.

Requirements

  • Previous job experience working in ceramics studio, making glazes, and scaling glaze recipes.
  • Familiarity with ceramic materials and glaze formulations.
  • Deep understanding of ceramic manufacturing processes, material science, safe and efficient operations, quality and accuracy in work produced and kiln operation.
  • Hands-on familiarity with CAD software for design and technical drafting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with quality management systems and strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Technical knowledge in ceramics paired with creative design skills to sculpt and craft handmade or decorative tiles.
  • Ability to resolve production issues and adapt to new manufacturing technologies.
  • Precision in maintaining strict quality control standards and artistic design accuracy.
  • Strong collaboration skills to coordinate smoothly between design, engineering, production, logistics, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task; particularly while multi-tasking.
  • Ability and desire to develop a comprehensive knowledge base of STM product lines, specifications and applications.
  • Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to effectively build quality relationships with customers and co-workers based upon trust and respect.
