About The Position

Empower AI is seeking a Centralized Systems Administration (SA) Specialist to provide on-site SA services to offices in the NCR. This role is crucial for managing assets and supporting IT operations for Department of State (DoS) users enterprise-wide, ensuring the customer's mission is effectively supported. The specialist will work with on-site SA's on the installation, maintenance, and proactive monitoring of various hardware and customer applications. This includes managing security and vendor patches, updates, vSphere Installation Bundles (VIBs), and Oracle/SQL databases. The role also involves enforcing security controls in alignment with DoS policies, such as AD administration, vSphere/OS remediation, and security compliance tools. The SA Specialist will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, efficiency, and effectiveness of systems, software, hardware, and data. Responsibilities include providing technical support for testing and evaluation, executing data backups, restores, and purging procedures, and coordinating hardware/software upgrades and equipment retirements. Additionally, the specialist will manage incidents and service requests in the Ticket Management System (Service Now), track configuration changes, monitor system performance, maintain technical documentation, provide status reports, manage internal project coordination, and promptly notify management of risks affecting IT services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's in IT or related field
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, and proactive monitoring of hardware (servers, network switches, routers, workstations, hard drives, driver license readers, barcode readers, printers, digital scanners, etc.) and all customer applications (e.g., AD, System Center Configuration Manager/Post Administration Tool, Travel Document Issuance System, Passport Records Imaging System Management, Automated Cash Register System, and other locally installed customer applications).
  • Managing security and vendor patches, updates, vSphere Installation Bundles (VIBs), and Oracle/SQL databases.
  • Enforcing security controls in alignment with DoS policies, including AD administration (user accounts / privileges), vSphere/OS remediation, and security compliance tools.
  • Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability, efficiency, and effectiveness of systems, software, hardware, and data.
  • Providing technical support for testing and evaluation.
  • Executing regular data backups, restores, and purging procedures to ensure data availability.
  • Coordinating hardware/software upgrades, consolidations, and equipment retirements.
  • Logging, managing, and resolving all incidents and service requests in the Ticket Management System (currently Service Now).
  • Initiating, tracking, and documenting all configuration changes for hardware, software, and permissions.
  • Monitoring system performance for anomalies.
  • Maintaining current site topology diagrams, system configurations, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Providing regular status reporting on all SA activities.
  • Managing internal project coordination.
  • Promptly notifying management of risks (e.g., power outages, environmental issues) affecting IT services.
