Central Verification Coordinator (1.0 FTE/Days)
About The Position
The Central Verification Coordinator manages primary source verification and data management for initial appointments and reappointments of physicians and allied health providers seeking membership or privileges at Franciscan Health hospitals. The role evaluates applications and supporting documents to confirm that primary-source data is complete and that education and experience criteria reflect the services sought at each Franciscan entity. It also maintains accurate practitioner databases, securely manages and files permanent records, and communicates with hospital Medical Staff Professionals and Franciscan Health facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of hospital credentialing experience.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification preferred.
- Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Send appropriate electronic applications and supplemental documents to physicians and allied health providers requesting membership and/or privileges at Franciscan Health hospitals.
- Complete the primary source verification process accurately and promptly for initial appointments and reappointments.
- Maintain an accurate database of practitioners associated with Franciscan Health and hospital-wide downstream systems.
- Manage primary source verification functions using a comprehensive, technology-driven verification and data management process.
- Evaluate applications to ensure primary-source data is complete and that providers meet qualifications for affiliation with the facility.
- Ensure education and experience criteria reflect the services sought at each Franciscan entity.
- File documents electronically according to established filing systems in a timely manner.
- Manage secure record retention to safeguard permanent records and prevent breaches of confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with each hospital Medical Staff Professional and Franciscan Health facility.
