About The Position

Central Supply/Transportation Clerk position at NHC HealthCare West Plains. This role involves maintaining inventory levels of nursing supplies, conducting weekly inventory checks, purchasing materials, and managing vendor relationships. The position also requires preparing correspondence for damaged or incorrect merchandise and adhering to a prescribed budget. The role may involve working beyond normal hours, on weekends, and holidays, and temporarily in other positions as needed. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with good communication skills and enjoys teamwork.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
Must have valid State Driver's License.
Must be able to pass a Chauffeur's license test and pass a background check.
Must be CPR/AED Certified (We can help you get this).
Ability to move (sit, stand, bend, lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum 50 pounds.
Must be caring, compassionate, and be a team player.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience, especially a CMT, in a healthcare environment in Central Supply is desirable.
Good communication skills.
Self-starter.
Enjoys team work.

Responsibilities

Maintain par levels of all nursing supplies.
Conduct routine inventory on a weekly basis to ensure par levels.
Work directly with all vendors, maintain lists of supplies needed and purchase materials to maintain an adequate inventory.
Prepare correspondences and claim concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc. and return to vendor as required.
Follow prescribed budget.
Assist passengers into and out of the vehicle; including pushing a loaded wheelchair up and down a ramp/lift, into, or out of the vehicle.
