About The Position

Under the direction of supervisors or an assigned charge person, the Central Supply and Distribution Technician I fulfills general supply needs and ensures supplies and equipment are delivered promptly to requesting hospital departments. The role supports inventory control, departmental activities, and consistent execution of goals by following established standard operating procedures for the Workday ERP and BlueBin two-bin Kanban program.

This is a very physical role that includes delivering supplies throughout hospital departments using appropriate equipment. The technician also receives and validates products, puts away and picks inventory, creates requisitions, replenishes supply nodes, supports inventory management, responds to calls and emails, services specialty carts, fulfills urgent requests, and retrieves contaminated instruments and equipment according to established infection prevention procedures.

Requirements

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes in a timely manner.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of experience in healthcare materials supply chain; current experience is preferred.
• Experience with Workday, PAR replenishment, and/or inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill general supply needs under the direction of supervisors or an assigned charge person.
• Deliver supplies and equipment to requesting departments in a timely manner, including urgent requests.
• Receive and validate products, put away supplies, create requisitions, and pick inventory.
• Support inventory management and replenish supply nodes.
• Answer calls and respond to emails.
• Service specialty carts.
• Support accurate inventory control and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Follow established Workday ERP and BlueBin two-bin Kanban standard operating procedures.
• Retrieve contaminated instruments and equipment using established infection prevention procedures.
• Support daily activities and the consistent execution of departmental goals.
