About The Position

The Central Supply Associate's primary function is to receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items for the facility. This role involves maintaining accurate supply records, compiling stock reports, and preparing purchase orders. The position also includes creating schedules for the nursing department and potentially participating in staff interviews and supervision of staff reporting to this role.

Requirements

  • Must have a certificate as a Medical Assistant in the State of Kansas.
  • Must be listed as a Nurse Aide and Medical Assistant in the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Registry.
  • Ability to understand, observe, and enforce infection control procedures.
  • Ability to observe all facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and recognize potential physical, chemical, and electrical hazards and take immediate corrective action.
  • Ability to understand and enforce the Exposure Control Plan.
  • Ability to safeguard the privacy of Residents’ health information.
  • Ability to speak and read English, and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, residents, and staff.
  • Ability to use computers proficiently.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, crawl, crouch, kneel, balance, finger, grasp, push, pull, reach, or walk.
  • Ability to lift objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects along a horizontal level.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights in the 35 to 50 pound range.
  • Ability to exert force upon an object in order to draw, drag or tug objects toward the source of the force in a sustained motion.

  • Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate supply orders and organized records of supplies received.
  • Receive incoming supplies and verify them against purchase orders.
  • Determine inventory quantities and order more materials as needed.
  • Collect data on supply needs from nursing units.
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to select the best materials and equipment.
  • Receive, review, and get requisitions approved before placing orders.
  • Identify the type and amount of each item to be stocked.
  • Maintain supplies in a neat, clean, and organized manner, following proper storage instructions.
  • Send invoices to the business office for payment.
  • Provide the business office with accurate charges for supplies used by individual residents.
  • Handle Clock Tracker billing.
  • Provide accurate reports to administration on supplies received.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Operate computers for recording, storing, and analyzing information.
  • Operate copy/fax/printer machines.
  • Order and stock medications as directed.
  • Pass briefs daily.
  • Create the schedule for the nursing department.
  • Participate in staff interviews and selection of candidates for positions reporting to the Central Supply position.
  • Supervise positions that report to the Central Supply position and provide direction.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Administrator.
