Full Time Temporary Central Sort Sorter
About The Position
Will process donated clothes, house wares, books, toys, jewelry, shoes and miscellaneous items for sale. This is done through pre-sorting, sorting, grading, cleaning, hanging and packaging. May separate (pre-sorts) items according to predetermined classification or criteria. Separates (sorts) and grades items into goods saleable at the regular stores. Removes surface dirt from glassware and small ware, placing items, which are not complete and/or broken into containers for the As-Is or trash. Puts saleable clothes on to hangers. Tags and/or prices items. Places items into containers and puts appropriate storage label on container. Works with clients who are assigned for vocational services as requested. Follows and enforces all company procedures. Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Knowledge of general arithmetic (adding/subtracting) is required.
- Ability to perform routine work, adapting to change as it relates to workflow.
- Ability to maintain self-control and work in cooperation with co-workers.
- Ability to coordinate hand-eye-foot movement to quickly manipulate and handle items.
- Ability to examine items and visually differentiate between them based on quality standards.
- Ability to meet and maintain established standards.
- Lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs consistently.
- Lifting/carrying heavier items of up to 50 lbs (with assistance or material handling equipment).
- Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient.
