About The Position

The Alaska Court System is seeking a versatile and dynamic individual to join the Archives and Central Services Division as a Central Services Clerk 1. This position involves a variety of essential duties supporting the division's operations, including receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and equipment, managing shipping and deliveries, and assisting with minor repairs and furniture/equipment moves. The role also includes operating forklifts, court vehicles, and other material handling equipment. Responsibilities extend to managing the ACS mail system, operating postage machines, delivering and retrieving inter-office mail, and processing all incoming and outgoing mail. Courier duties involve delivering documents to external locations. Additionally, the position offers hands-on experience in the print shop, learning equipment and software for ACS printing needs, and supporting the printing process under supervision. This is a flexibly-staffed position, with potential progression to Central Services Clerk 2 upon successful completion of training, meeting qualifications, and supervisor/HR approval. Additional tasks may be assigned by the supervisor or Central Services Senior Clerk.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • Six months of mail handling, office clerical, or warehouse work experience.
  • Possession of a valid Alaska Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Legal right to accept employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and equipment from warehouse storage locations.
  • Handling shipping and deliveries, ensuring timely distribution of materials.
  • Assisting with minor repairs.
  • Moving furniture and equipment.
  • Operating forklifts, court vehicles, and other material handling equipment.
  • Managing the ACS mail system, including operating postage metering machines.
  • Delivering and retrieving inter-office mail.
  • Processing all incoming and outgoing mail across the Anchorage campus.
  • Delivering documents to law firms and other ACS locations as part of courier duties.
  • Supporting the printing process in the print shop, learning equipment and software.
  • Performing basic lifting and equipment operation tasks such as moving copy paper and boxes, and using a pallet jack.
