About The Position

The Central Service Technician performs customer service, stocking, and distribution functions, along with decontamination, processing, running, and general cleanup for the Central Service department. The technician assists individuals who come into the department for supplies and communicates respectfully in person and by telephone. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a Central Service processing area or related field is preferred.
• Be flexible and adapt to the department’s schedule and needs.
• Read, write legibly, and speak English with professional quality.
• Use the computer, printer, and software programs necessary for the position; operate and troubleshoot required basic office equipment.
• Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; remain calm and respond courteously under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
• Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and by telephone.
• Perform basic math functions essential to the position; think critically; manage multiple assignments; organize and prioritize workload; problem solve; recall information accurately; and pay close attention to detail.
• Document legibly, use a computer for essential job duties, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation and to identify workplace sounds; and see adequately to read computer screens and necessary written documents.
