Schedules multiple services and procedures in appropriate locations, utilizing resource staff schedules and available rooms. Acts as a liaison for physician offices and nursing departments, receiving and assisting with scheduling requests. Updates and distributes schedules, mails out procedure instructions, and answers preparation questions. Confirms appointments, distributes preparation directions, and provides information regarding ABN when appropriate. Produces and distributes necessary paperwork, and answers routine inquiries from clients, physicians, and hospital personnel. Maintains department records and filing systems, and photocopies/faxes information as needed. Obtains accurate scheduling information, including demographics and payer information. Communicates unresolved issues to management in a timely manner. Pre-registers outpatient appointments, including insurance verification. Explains and processes patient payments (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles) and follows department procedures for securing payment information. Prints and reconciles patient reports, and validates physician orders for medical necessity and proper signatures. Performs other assigned duties and provides service excellence in accordance with Cape Cod Healthcare's CARES values.
